(Let’s use some psychological logic here.)
The human mind always views nature from the center of its own world.
We call the lion a predator and the gazelle innocent, as we use human values to judge everything.
But just for one moment, consider changing the perspective…And imagining the world from the viewpoint of a plant.
The entire case would be reversed instantly.
The lion is a completely innocent one to a plant.
What harm can a lion cause a plant?
* It doesn’t strip away its leaves.
* It doesn’t grind its stem.
* It doesn’t rip off its roots.
* It doesn’t kill it and then devour it.
Actually… The lion doesn’t even come in contact with the plant.
So, with the plant’s eyes, the lion is: Harmless. Not a threat. Neutral even innocent.
Indeed, that’s what I mean:
The lion acts like a saint to the plant.
*But the gazelle?
The plant sees the gazelle as its worst enemy.
The gazelle, what does it do?
* Clipping the leaves.
* Biting off the flowers.
*Chewing the stem.
* Destroying the sprouts.
* Occasionally, eating the entire root system.
From a plant point of view:
Gazelle = Destroyer
Gazelle = Death
Gazelle = A devilish creature
The one animal we call “pure and peaceful” is, in the plant’s world, an absolute predator.
This reversal reveals to us a profound truth:
Nature has no absolute good or evil. Only perspectives exist.
A character can be innocent in one story and a dangerous one in another.
A lion brings death to the gazelle. A gazelle brings death to the plant.
The lion does no harm to the plant. The gazelle does no harm to the lion.
All of these are true. All of these are real. All of these depend on your position.
What does this mean psychologically?
You are not the same person in everyone’s story.
In the story of one person, you are the hero, but in the story of another… the villain.
To one you may be kind and well intentioned, but to another you may be threatening.
The main reason behind this is that people should not perceive you in one dimensional ways.
What is to remember here is that:
Bett good or bad is a matter of whose eyes are seeing.
And the real truth is:
Maybe you are the devil to one person and to another, you’re an angel.
However, none of that really plays any role. What really plays the role is:
How faithful you are to your own self.
How authentic you still are of your true self. And most importantly:
Wrong is not in the deed, it’s in the viewpoint.
Nature has no absolute good or evil… Just the lens through which you see.
