The Trade of Fear: The Cost of Magnifying the Devil

Religious records tell us this: Iblis refused to bow to man in the presence of God.

Then he declared that until the Day of Judgment he would mislead humanity.

In other words, he opposed God’s absolute authority, almost as if he were challenging Him.

But here we must pause. Because certain questions have never been asked, blindly accepted instead:

*Who is Iblis?

*Who is God?

*And by what right, with what power, could Iblis defy God?

If God is omnipotent the Creator of the universe, the beginning and the end then Iblis is nothing more than a creature He created.

How then could a limited being rise against the absolute power that brought it into existence?

There is only one logical explanation: This scene is actually a metaphor for the test of humanity.

But here’s the problem for centuries, this metaphor has been misread, granting Iblis an unnecessary power, even portraying him as if he were equal to God, used to frighten and control people.

Attributing Power to the Devil = Diminishing God

Think about it. God is the owner of the universe, absolute power. To say that “Iblis defied God” is, in fact, to make Iblis equal to God. Isn’t that the greatest contradiction?

The real danger lies in portraying the devil as too powerful. Because then God’s might is overshadowed. People are frightened, subdued, and prevented from using their own minds. Yet what do the scriptures repeatedly emphasize? Use your mind.

So the issue is not searching for some independent devil outside but learning to confront the darkness within.

Iblis = The Darkness Within Man

If we take the story of Iblis literally, we end up questioning God’s omnipotence. But if we read it as a metaphor, the true message becomes clear:

*Iblis is the human ego.

*Iblis is man’s greed, arrogance, and rage.

*Iblis is the darkness inside us.

And the greatest task God has given humanity is this: To use reason and rise above that inner darkness.

Do Not Fear, Question!

Never forget: Even imagining that Iblis could defy God is to diminish God. If God is absolute, no creature can rise against Him.

The frightening tales about the devil, constantly thrown before us so we won’t think, were used to enslave the mind. Those who wanted to control people magnified Satan far beyond what he ever was.

But in reality, compared to God’s might, Iblis is nothing but a shadow, a whisper, an inner impulse.

And do you know what gives him power? Your belief. The more you fear, the more he grows; the more you question, the more he disappears.

Use Your Mind, The Rest Will Follow

Man should not seek the devil outside himself. His greatest battle lies in his own mind. God’s greatest gift to us is reason.

If we do not use it, we remain captives to the fear stories written by others.

If we do not question, we place Satan on par with God.

And if we do not free our reason, we will continue mistaking our own darkness for the devil.

Here’s the slap of truth: Iblis cannot defy God. The real defiance belongs to the man who refuses to use his own mind.
