What If Everything Is Already Written in Our Soul?
There are some people:
First time they perform on stage, but it seems like they are already familiar with the place.
First time they write, innocence of the work is apparent, and yet their words sound like those of a mature writer.
When we observe them, we cannot help but to ask ourselves that one question:
Are they really ‘special’,
Or have I just not discovered something within myself yet?
This question points out three options:
1. The soul already holds everything and it reveals what it wants and when.
2. Some people have been really blessed with extra talents while others have not.
3. We all have certain potential inside of us, but most of the people never come to know it.
Which one is correct?
Perhaps a bit from all three.
The main thing though is: Which one do we choose to trust?
The Myth of the Born Special Ones
When we hear the word talent, we often think:
They have gifts from nature.
The hidden subtitle of that sentence is:
I don’t have them.
While we put somebody else on a pedestal, we at the same time diminish ourselves quietly.
The thought that says,
I simply don’t have the ability, even if I try it won’t work,
resembles a spirit which is unwilling to nourish its own seeds
and later complains about the earth for remaining barren.
But what if natural talent is just the sign of a long spiritual preparation behind it?
Perhaps someone is born into music
because the soul has been deeply immersed in listening, rhythm, and hearing for a long time.
Another one moves toward writing
as their soul has been practicing inner observation and deep thinking for a long time.
In that case, talent may not be a heavenly gift that falls out of the sky,
but the fruit of where the soul has been investing for a long time.
Is Everything Really Hidden in Our Soul?
Think about it yourself:
When did I become me?
The day you were born?
The first time you were rejected?
The moment you went to a stage trembling, and then realized you weren’t afraid the next time?
Perhaps the you / you call you is actually the gradual unveiling of the soul codes through the body and mind.
The soul:
* Is the carrier of potential,
* The mind: Becomes aware of potential,
* The body: Gives it reality.
It’s the reason why sometimes:
I am doing this and it feels that I am my true self.
It is as if I have been waiting for my whole life to do this.
That experience very often is the connection between potential and actualization.
The stage you are on finally coincides with that line written in your soul.
The trouble is:
The majority of people do not walk out on their own stage.
A good number of them won’t even realize they have one.
Was It Really Never Given to Some People?
I’m empty. There’s nothing in me.
This kind of statement most of the time doesn’t refer to an actual reality.
It rather means:
Being emotionally cut off,
Not getting any attention,
Being looked down upon repeatedly.
Think of a child:
They paint, sing, and are curious.
Then, at some point, someone will definitely say:
Stop wasting your time with this ridiculous stuff.
Will you earn money with that?
Be quiet, adults are talking.
Talent doesn’t go away.
It only gets covered by shame, fear, and low self esteem.
The little one grows up and says:
Some people are born with talents. I’m not.
Maybe the real theme is not
I don’t have it, but rather:
I do have it, but so much dirt has been thrown over it that I can’t see it anymore.
What Do We Actually Mean by a Leap in Consciousness?
In some cases, a leap in consciousness can be explained like this:
* One single sentence is read,
* A movie is seen,
* Someone utters a few words to you,
And inside you something shakes: I am not this. I am more than that.
It is not a miracle that causes the change there.
It is quite simple really:
The soul already knew it the mind is just realizing it for the very first time.
So:
* Talent = the seed,
* Leap in consciousness = Oh… I didn’t see the seed here,
* Action = actually putting water on that seed.
The leap does not start
when people are giving you their applause.
It starts the moment you ask yourself the question, shamelessly:
What is it that I really want to do?
So What Do We Do?
Maybe we really need to think about starting from the simplest place.
* We stop asking the question:
Am I specially gifted?
* And instead of that, we ask ourselves:
What am I doing when my breath is so calm that I don’t even notice it,
my sense of time completely vanishes, and a quiet, peaceful feeling arises inside of me?
Most of the time, talent is not concealed in the areas where we shine the most, but where we can finally take a breath.
For some people, this would be:
* Writing,
* Painting,
* Speaking,
* Listening,
* Solving problems,
* Working with the body,
* Building systems…
Talent is not only the place where everyone cheers for you.
It might also be the place where you have the most profound contact with yourself.
The Soul Doesn’t Come Empty But It Can Leave Unopened
I prefer to think that:
The soul is not empty when it comes. It just very often escapes from our hands because no one has ever taught us how to open it.
Some people open that door by chance, some through their suffering,
some through their curiosity, and some through their rebellion.
What is referred to as a consciousness leap is not about becoming a superhuman very suddenly.
It is merely this one:
Substituting the voice that says, “I have nothing in me,” with a voice that says, “Perhaps there are so many things in me that I have never really noticed.”
Not by obsessing over the fact of whether you’re “the chosen one” or not, do things change.
It is about being serious enough with your own inner world to decide on it over and over again.
The rest of it is: Time, practice, courage… And yes, a little bit of stubbornness.
